11. Akita Inu
The Akita Inu is a large breed from the mountains of northern Japan. They may appear calm and reserved, but beneath their thick fur and curled tail lies a powerful dog. Akitas are loyal and affectionate with their family but less so with strangers or other animals. Without proper socialization or training, Akitas can become dangerous around unfamiliar people.
